Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who began her career with smart raps that addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Her career then grew to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants who resided in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. In the end, she focused on her education. she graduated with an education in journalism at the college as well as a women's studies major. Her focus shifted towards music after she graduated. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. The track was later included on the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Following a career that was successful as a performer and songwriter, she took on the role of actor. Apart from the early television programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
